Innovative Apps that change the way we experience Cultural Heritage at the MWC Greek Pavilion

MOPTIL participated in the Mobile World Congress 2024 international exhibition in Barcelona and presented the Augmented & Virtual Reality (AR/VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications it develops for cultural spaces.

MOPTIL participated for the third time in the international exhibition MWC – Mobile World Congress 2024, held in Barcelona from 26 to 29 February 2024. It was hosted as part of the participation of the EGG business accelerator of Eurobank in the Greek pavilion organized by the Association of Enterprise Innovative Applications of Greece and Enterprise Greece.

The company introduced technologies that change the way we experience culture, as visitors to museums and archaeological sites. MOPTIL develops applications that offer interactive visits to cultural sites, enhancing the overall experience in a physical and experiential way. Using mobile applications with Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) technology, visitors feel that they are inside the area they are visiting as it was in ancient times, “seeing” monuments, temples and objects through 3D digital representations with colors. They can also chat with intelligent digital assistants, who with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) answer their questions in real time.

Moptil presented the DIGIPAST Virtual Reality App, which is successfully available in the Greek tourist market for 10 Archaeological sites and already has 500,000 users. At the same time, Moptil presented one of the latest projects, the pilot NAXOS AR free Augmented Reality App, which brings to life the Portara of Naxos as it would have been in its glory.

The application was developed as part of the “Naxos Smart Island” initiative supported by Amazon Web Services. Finally, Mr. Michael Kokkinos, founder and CEO of MOPTIL announced plans for new collaborations in Malta and Italy, as the company seeks its further development in new international markets.
