MOPTIL highly values the principle of gender equality and maintains a strong commitment to upholding it. Responding to current imperatives and aligning with the strategies outlined both at the national level (Action for Gender Equality 2021-2025) and the European level (Gender Equality Strategy for 2020-2025, Gender equality in the European Research Area), MOPTIL has taken a significant step in August 2023 by introducing its inaugural Gender Equality Plan (GEP). This plan establishes gender equality and the elimination of discrimination as explicit objectives within our organization, in addition to our fundamental dedication to meritocracy and the pursuit of excellence.

Furthermore, the plan outlines a series of concrete initiatives aimed at fostering a culture attuned to gender considerations across various dimensions of MOPTIL’s operations, encompassing human resource management, decision-making frameworks, and the substance of our research and policy propositions. These initiatives encompass alterations to the company’s operational and communicative documentation, meticulous collection of data disaggregated by sex, capacity enhancement endeavors, and measures to achieve a balanced gender representation.

MOPTIL takes immense pride in embarking on this journey to articulate an Action Plan that aligns our practices with the mandates of the European Union and national legislations. The Gender Equality Plan is characterized as a ‘soft’ policy instrument promoted by the European Union, encouraging both public and private entities, including those within the realm of research and higher education, to seamlessly integrate gender perspectives and implement equity measures within their internal frameworks and functioning.
