MOPTIL is proud to announce its involvement as a technology subcontractor in a landmark initiative to digitally enhance visitors’ experiences across Greece’s archaeological sites, museums, and cultural monuments. The project, spearheaded by the consortium OTE—SingularLogic—Radiant, represents one of the most ambitious efforts to date in the country’s intersection of culture and technology.
Awarded through a public procurement process, the project is valued at €27.28 million (including VAT) and aims to deliver a full-scale digital transformation of Greece’s most visited cultural spaces through interactive services, advanced applications, and innovative tools. As one of the key subcontractors, MOPTIL will contribute its deep expertise in augmented reality (AR) and interactive digital tours, drawing from years of experience in building immersive visitor experiences at both national and international heritage sites.
Blending Culture with Innovation
The initiative includes a broad set of deliverables designed to enrich and modernize the visitor journey, including:
- Expansion and upgrade of the existing E-ticketing and visitor control systems from 28 to 100 archaeological sites and museums.
- Development of personalized digital content and applications integrated into a unified experience.
- Real-time visitor tracking and counting systems to optimize flow and operations.
- An interactive digital tour guide with optional AR features and embedded functionality for visitors to receive digital mementos.
- AR-based mobile applications that offer a fresh, immersive way to engage with Greece’s cultural heritage.
“MOPTIL is honored to support this national-scale project, which aligns directly with our mission to bring history to life through cutting-edge technology,” said Michalis Kokkinos, Founder & CEO of MOPTIL. “The opportunity to collaborate with an outstanding association of companies—OTE, SingularLogic, and Radiant—underscores the strength and credibility of the consortium leading this initiative. We’re proud to contribute to a partnership that combines technical excellence with a shared vision for cultural innovation.”
Strengthening Cultural Engagement at Scale
With a long-standing commitment to digital heritage and storytelling, MOPTIL brings to the project not only technological capability but also a deep understanding of user experience in cultural environments. From mobile AR experiences to real-time translation features currently in development for DIGIPAST, MOPTIL’s portfolio continues to grow in alignment with national and international demands for smarter, more inclusive cultural access. As work begins on this transformational initiative, MOPTIL remains committed to its role: creating meaningful bridges between the past and the future, powered by technology and crafted with care.
