Greece and Spain Deepen Economic Ties: A Strategic Leap Forward

We are proud to highlight a dynamic moment in Hellenic entrepreneurship and diplomacy, as Greece’s leading business institutions converge in Madrid, Spain, from May 25–27, 2025. The Greek Business Delegation to Spain, a multi-day mission filled with strategic meetings, B2B networking, and high-level forums, marks a significant milestone in building bilateral business bridges.

This initiative, jointly organized by ΕΒΕΑ – ACCI (Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry), SEV (Hellenic Federation of Enterprises), SEVE (Greek Exporters’ Association), and Enterprise Greece SA, is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic and with the full institutional support of the Hellenic-Spanish Chamber of Commerce and the Cámara de Comercio Hispano Griega.

At the heart of the program was the Hellenic-Spanish Business Forum, hosted at the headquarters of CEOE (Confederación Española de Organizaciones Empresariales). Featuring distinguished speakers including Tasos Hatzivasileiou, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, and Amparo López Senovilla, Spain’s Secretary of State for Trade, the forum set the tone for a renewed era of strategic cooperation.

MOPTIL salutes the presence and contribution of our close partners, such as the Athens Chamber, SEV, and Enterprise Greece, who consistently champion Greek innovation, exports, and investment promotion abroad. Through this delegation, the importance of digital transformation, sustainable development, and cross-border cooperation was not only discussed but also embodied.

Michael Kokkinos, President of the Hellenic-Spanish Chamber of Commerce, opened the success stories session with a strong call to action for real investments and operational partnerships between Greek and Spanish enterprises. The session, moderated by Pantelis Gassios, featured leading business voices like José Oriol Hoyos of Iberdrola Renovables Internacional and Spyros Sbonias of ACUICULTURA DEL DELTA S.L., sharing concrete examples of collaboration that work.

An official reception at the Greek Embassy in Madrid, hosted by Ambassador Aglaia Balta, and a high-level visit to the Madrid Chamber of Commerce further reinforced the trust and institutional commitment necessary to scale these efforts. There, Ángel Asensio Laguna, President of the Madrid Chamber, joined Greek officials in emphasizing the momentous potential of these renewed ties.

MOPTIL recognizes that such missions are not just about symbolic gestures. They are about opening doors. The direct B2B sessions and science and technology park visits brought businesses into direct contact with Spanish counterparts, generating leads, fostering introductions, and creating the foundation for long-term growth.

As an innovation-driven company rooted in Greece, with global aspirations and a keen eye on strategic alliances, MOPTIL sees this mission as a blueprint for future engagement in European markets.
