Virtual Reality 4 Tourism: Your Journey into Immersive Learning Begins Here

VR is here. It’s powerful. It’s shaping the future.
Let’s get you on board.

Virtual Reality 4 Tourism (VR4T) is an Erasmus+ project aimed at helping tourism professionals and learners discover the practical potential of Virtual Reality (VR) in their work. Whether you’re a tour guide, travel agent, educator, or simply curious about new tech in tourism, VR4T offers a hands-on, accessible way to get started with immersive learning.

What’s Been Happening?

First steps: The VR4T kick-off webinar

We officially launched the project on June 3rd with a live kick-off webinar. This session brought together over 100 participants eager to explore how VR can transform tourism training. We introduced the VR4T consortium, shared our project objectives, and offered a first look at the structure of our upcoming e-learning platform.

After the main presentations, the audience engaged directly with the partners through a Q&A and open discussion, setting the tone for a collaborative and forward-thinking project. This webinar marked the official start of VR4T — and the beginning of our journey into immersive education.

On the ground in Sofia: First international training

Next stop: Sofia, Bulgaria. From July 8–10, we hosted the first in-person international training, bringing together 20 participants from across Europe — including VET trainers, travel agencies, and tourism professionals.

This training was the first pilot test of the VR4T course, combining hands-on exploration with peer learning, feedback, and real-time testing of our methodology.

Training highlights included:

Day 1

  • The Importance, Applications and Challenges of VR in Tourism – presented by Ugostiteljska škola Opatija (UGOS)
  • Applied VR in Tourism: Case Studies and Best Practices – delivered by the Academy of Entrepreneurship (AKEP)

Day 2

  • VR Applications in Tourism – presented by MOPTIL – Mobile Optical Illusions
  • Immersive Tools for Soft Skills Development – led by Inmedia Solutions
  • Tech Trends Shaping the Tourism Sector – presented by Semos Education

Day 3

  • VR and Sustainable Tourism – hosted by the Camera di Commercio Italiana in Bulgaria (CCIB)
  • A collaborative feedback and reflection session, where participants shared their insights to help improve the course as it moves forward.

What’s Next?

We’re just getting started. In the coming months, we’ll continue developing the VR4T platform and sharing opportunities to explore VR in tourism education.
